How does the free trial work?

The free trial allows you and your crew to use workrest and the monitoring system with all the features on any device for the entire month. At the end of the month you will be able to digitally sign and export all crew members time sheets.

What happens after the free trial ends?

You will still be able to use the app with all the features, but you will no longer be able to approve entries in your vessel dashboard. To continue using the solution you would need to set up a subscription. See subscription topic below.

Do i have to wait to the end of the month to start my subscription?

Absolutely not. Either click here, or in your Monitoring System, go to your ⚙ 'Settings', then Billing. Here you will be able to enter your payment details in seconds, and your all set.

Set Up Process

Have your first month free on us, then decide if you would like to continue using it. We know you will…

1. Each crew member creates an account, by either;

  • Downloading the workrest app; iOS / play store, or
  • Web browser workrest.co/signup

2. Crew follow 'Sign up' instructions.

3. Vessel Admin, access your Vessel Dashboard here Your place to review all entries in real time* and digitally sign them off at the end of the month and more.

What happens then?

You can start your subscription at any point during your trial, Once the trial has finished you will no longer be able to approve the following months time sheets. Click here to set-up a subscription.

How much does it cost?

Our simple, flexible subscription service couldn't be simpler. Either monthly or yearly.

€/$ 20 per Vessel / Month - Includes up to 5 crew.
+ €/$ 1 - Per additional active crew member.

ie. A Vessel with 10 active crew, will be charged €25 / month.

*This pricing is based on a yearly subscription, if you pay on a monthly basis this price will increase by 20%.

What kind of payment methods do you support?

We support VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and JCB.

How are my Credit Card details stored?

We use Stripe to handle credit card details and payments. Read more

Do i have to sign a long term contract?

There's no contract, just a flexible monthly subscription, which you control. You can cancel at any time without any penalties.

Will the Vessel be charged if we have to export time sheets, numerous times in the same month?

No you only be charged per active crew member. Export your crews' time sheets as many times in a month as you wish.

What if we have varying crew numbers from month to month?

You'll only be charged for active crew members. So if you have 36 on board during one month and 42 the next, you will only be charged for those 36 and 42 crew members respectively.

Will the vessel be charged if crew members are using the app on multiple devices?

No, they can install the app on as many devices as they like, you will only be charged for that one account.

What compliance do you offer?

Once you have a subscription you are able to select between;

  • MLC 2006
  • STCW 2010
  • US OPA 90

Can I change between compliances multiple times in a month?

  • Yes, you can change it on a daily basis, the system will make a note in the comments section of each time sheet and will alter its compliance checks accordingly.

Will it work when we don't have an internet connection?

  • App - once downloaded and crew have signed up, it will always function with or without an internet connection. It requires one connection at the end of the month to send the completed data through to the Monitoring System.
  • Monitoring System - Is currently only cloud-based. We plan to release the Offline Version very soon.

If a crew member goes 'On Leave', can they sign off their timesheet early?

Absolutely, the crew member sets themselves to 'On Leave', as long as their return date is past the end of the current month, the app will allow them to sign their hours off for that month, before they've left the Vessel. That means it's ready in your dashboard for when you need it.

A crew member doesn't have a smart phone or tablet.

They are able to enter their hours in their web browser using either their personal computer or the boat computer. All they will need is their log in details.

Does it work on every single device?

It may be that the smart phone a user has is no longer supported by its manufacturer anymore, i.e. Apple only support above the 4S now. Users will still be able to use the solution in their web browser on their device, however issues may be experienced.

Do I need to download the app to use WorkRest?

No, you don't need to download the app to utilise WorkRest. Create an account here. Once you've created an account you can log and monitor at any time from any web-enabled device. This includes computers, tablets and smart phones.

A crew member leaves the boat, what then?

In the Monitoring System you are able to move crew members to 'Previous'. This will mean their account is no longer linked to your Vessels.

Users & Vessels data storage

How long will you keep our Vessels data backed up?

As long as the vessel has an ongoing subscription, we will continuously back up your data indefinitely. If the vessel no longer wishes to use workrest, we will store a back up of all of the vessels records for one year after the final payment has been made. After this time period of one year, all data relating to said Vessel would be deleted.

A crew member that has left the yacht and hasn’t used the account for a year and we want to access the records

After one year of a user no longer registered to said vessel, the actual shift data, and any other data will be destroyed, with just their exported time sheet for the vessels records being kept on file.
